36 years of CB - Glasgow meet

On Saturday 4th November a small number of CB radio enthusiasts celebrated the 36th year since it became legal in the UK by all tuning into channel 36 and making way to a regional radio hot-spot ''the car park in the sky'' (Glennifer Braes) in Paisley, West of Scotland.
The channel was buzzing with the mobile stations and some who were at their home 20, it worked very well, even relaying messages of diverting away from the numerous roadworks and lane closures on the M8 just like the old days. It was good to hear the cb buzzing again with so many on one channel at the same time. A sad reality of it all was everyone who turned up were all 40+ years old, no younger users were heard on the radio and none showed up, maybe the hobby will die out with the current users? Something certainly needs done to promote radio to the younger generations before it's too late.
So in summary there were 20 breakers, 12 cars and all had a good meeting. The row of antenna's looked great and attracted some attention from the other people up there. We stayed for an hour before the chilly November wind got the better of us and we hit the road again.

Until 37 years
